More End of Summer Stuff

Making the best of these last days before school starts on Monday...
this is what we have been up to over the last week or so...

Emmy and I made flower rosettes that we will put on bobby pins and headbands.  Emmy's looking forward to wearing the blue and gold ones as a new 'Bobcat' on school spirit days!

Brian took Emmy fishing last weekend at the local trout farm.  Yummy fish tacos followed...

One last brew of the summer.  Hoping to have it be ready for the Bunghole BBQ over Labor Day.

Our littlest guy... totally into his cars and tractors... plays endlessly just like this!

Little Miss Movie Star making her important calls while big brother takes care of business on the soccer field.

Zeke's soccer season started last week (practice at the beginning of August).  So far, his team (the Thundercats) is smoking hot... they've won both of their games so far by landslides and getting better every week!

Getting ready!!!

We got to take Emmy to her Kindergarten sneak peak today and we were so pleased to discover that she gets to have the same wonderful teacher that Zeke had for kindergarten, Mrs. Braga.  We are also excited that there are quite a few kids and parents we know from church, MOPS, and soccer, so it seemed to ease Emmy's nerves that there were already friends for her in there!

We all start school Monday (though Brian started last week)--my class, Emmy in kinder, Zeke in 2nd grade (we were also able to meet Mrs. Fox today and see the classroom he'll be in this year today--so 'scholastic' looking!), and Ethan in preschool.  Pray for us on Monday morning that everything will go smoothly and everyone will come home LOVING school! =)

Just my boys hanging at home... with matching shirts today :)

Trying to make these last few days of summer interesting...

Love me some paint!

It has been 2 1/2 years since moving back into our home after a major remodel.  During this remodel, the stairs were moved out of the laundry area, we created what is someday going to be a 3/4 bath but currently a storage area, and the old (lead based painted) walls were covered up w/ drywall.  And there it sat...

Painting this room was on my summer project list, but as we were going into August, I had little hope of it actually being accomplished.  That is until.... my folks rolled into town!!!  Bill loves a good project and when he asked if there was anything he could help us with... well, let's just say I didn't let Brian talk first!!! =)

There was a lot of touch up, retexturing, priming, and painting... and it turned out great!!!  You can see my laundry room through a french door in my kitchen, which is painted a deep red color, so I wanted something that would flow with that.  Also, there is a lot of natural light in that room, and not tons of wall space, so I knew it could handle something a little more dramatic.  Bill said he doesn't ever want to eat chocolate again... but I've been dreaming of trying that color in there and I'm absolutely thrilled with the results!!!

(I took these pictures at night with my phone... so it looks even better in the daytime and not on a phone snapshot!)
I still have some decorating to do, and pinterest has loaded me with inspiration.  Thank you so much, Dad2, for all your help and constant determination to help us get our house 'done'!!!  We love you!!!
